Henry Eichman
Henry Eichman is a versatile percussionist and drummer with over 12 years teaching experience and a variety of performance experiences across the country.
A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Henry is currently a percussionist with The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own.” As a member of the U.S. Army Ceremonial Band, he performs for events at Arlington National Cemetery, The White House, The Pentagon, and other high-profile events in the National Capitol Region. Henry also serves as a substitute percussionist with the Army Concert Band and substitute drummer with The U.S. Army Band Downrange (popular music ensemble), Latin Music Ensemble, and in other jazz and popular music settings within The Army Band.
Henry has spent a bulk of his life on stage as an orchestral musician. Prior to moving to Virginia, Henry was Acting Principal Percussionist/Timpanist with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (Duluth, MN). He has also performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Battle Creek Symphony (MI), Jackson Symphony Orchestra (MI), and the Bay Atlantic Symphony (NJ).
At the drum throne, Henry performs with Catholic singer-songwriter Aly Aleigha at regional worship conferences, concerts, and other events around the country. You may also catch him playing drums at weddings in the DC/Baltimore area with the award-winning Bachelor Boys Band.
Outside the concert hall, Henry dazzled audiences for two summers as a member of HersheyPark’s energetic “streetmosphere” ensembles The Chocolate Covered Band and The Cocoa Rhythm Factory, and also performed around the east coast with the found-sound percussion group, JUNK ROCK.
As a teacher, Henry is passionate about connecting with others on an individual and personal level. In his 12 years as a teacher, he has worked with students of all ages in a variety of programs. Prior to enlisting in the Army, Henry spent three years as Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he taught classical percussion and drum set lessons and directed the UMD Percussion Ensemble. He also served as an instructor at the Michigan State University Community Music School and Jackson Symphony Orchestra Community Music School (Jackson, MI); taught percussion, guitar, and piano lessons for Greensleeves Music (West Chester, PA); and was a marching percussion instructor and arranger for Avon Grove High School (West Grove, PA).
Henry holds degrees from West Chester University (BM Music Education & Performance), the University of Minnesota Duluth (MM), and Michigan State University (DMA). Henry currently lives in Woodbridge with his wife and 3 awesome kids.
